Knit Your Own Irish Adventure

Embark on a knitting journey through the breathtaking landscapes of County Donegal.

This exclusive shawl, designed by Kath Andrews for McIntosh, is inspired by the region's natural beauty and James McIntosh’s maternal ancestry.

designed by Kath Andrews

in McIntosh hand-dyed Donegal Rich Tweed 4-Ply

Choose from three stunning colour sets to knit your way across green fields, around Irish peat bogs, mountains, and sandy beaches in a mixture of slip stitch patterns that create a semi-circular shawl that grows from the centre point.

Shawl knits to a finished size "after blocking" 140 x 71 cm / 55 x 28”.

The County shawl makes a beautiful accompaniment to any top layer of clothing, be it a dress, shirt, cardigan, sweater or coat.  It’s perfect for not only adding a touch of Irish charm to your wardrobe, but also for creating a unique and personalised accessory - a relaxing and rewarding knitting project.

Choose from one of 3 colour kits:

  • Northwest Ireland - A warm and gentle celebration of county Donegal’s landscape in yellow, red and cream.

  • Celtic Landscape - A sombre collection of cool, yet classic Celtic tones - green, cream and grey.
  • Great Craic and Tall Yarns  - A riot of fiery and bright colours - red, navy and orange.
