McIntosh in the press
A selection of features, interviews, reviews and appearances in print, online and on screen
We are always grateful when a magazine, journalist, broadcaster or designer chooses to feature McIntosh. Over the years, our yarns, patterns and story have appeared in the knitting and crochet press, national newspapers, digital media and television.
It is a pleasure to see designers turn McIntosh hand-dyed yarn into thoughtful, beautiful projects, and to read about their experience of working with our fibres and colours. James McIntosh and Dr Thomas have also been invited to share the personal story behind McIntosh and Knititation® with audiences in the UK and beyond.
Here are some of those features, along with the yarns, kits and patterns mentioned in them.

More than yarn
The story behind Knititation®
James taught himself to knit while recovering from depression, anxiety and panic attacks. The rhythm of making one stitch and then the next gave him a place to focus, pause and begin moving forward.
He calls this experience Knititation: a mindful approach to knitting in which the next stitch becomes an anchor. It is a deeply personal idea that has travelled from James’s needles into magazines, interviews, talks and a TEDx stage at King’s College London.
