When We Ship

We pack and post orders Monday to Friday, excluding UK public holidays.

We aim to dispatch in-stock products within three working days of receiving your order. Delivery estimates begin on the date of dispatch and are in addition to any production, supplier or pre-order lead time shown on the product page. You will receive a dispatch confirmation when your order has been sent.

Digital Pattern Delivery for LANGYARNS and WOOLADDICTS by LANGYARNS Kits

When you purchase a LANGYARNS or WOOLADDICTS by LANGYARNS pattern kit, the downloadable PDF pattern is delivered by email directly from LANGYARNS at the time of purchase.

The pattern email is sent to the email address provided with your order. Please check that your email address is correct when ordering, and check your spam or junk folder if the email does not appear in your inbox. If you cannot find your pattern email, please contact [email protected] with your order number.

The PDF pattern is delivered separately from the yarn and any other physical kit contents. The physical items remain subject to the dispatch, supplier lead times and delivery estimates set out below.

UK Delivery Options

We aim to make delivery as simple and transparent as possible.

  • Free Royal Mail Tracked 48 — on orders of £100 or more
  • Royal Mail Tracked 48 — £4.99 for orders under £100
  • Royal Mail Tracked 24 — £7.99
  • Parcelforce express24 — £10

International Delivery Options

We ship to the international destinations available at checkout using Royal Mail, Parcelforce Worldwide and their international delivery partners.

  • United States: Delivery costs £30 per order. Any applicable duties and tariffs are collected at checkout. Parcels are sent using a Delivered Duties Paid (DDP) service, so you should not normally be charged additional duties or tariffs on delivery.
  • Other available international destinations: Delivery costs £30 per order, except for Iceland and Israel, where delivery costs £70 per order. Unless otherwise stated at checkout, customers are responsible for any local import duties, taxes, customs-clearance charges or handling fees imposed by the destination country.

Delivery Times After Dispatch

The delivery estimates below start from the date on which we dispatch your order. They do not include any production, pre-order or supplier lead time shown on the product page. These estimates apply to physical products, rather than PDF patterns delivered by email.

UK Delivery

  • Royal Mail Tracked 24: Royal Mail aims to deliver on the next working day after dispatch. Please allow one to two working days.
  • Royal Mail Tracked 48: Royal Mail aims to deliver within two to three working days after dispatch.
  • Parcelforce express24: Parcelforce aims to deliver by close of business on the next working day after dispatch.

These services operate to delivery aims rather than guaranteed delivery dates, except where the carrier expressly describes its service as guaranteed. Deliveries to the Highlands, islands, Northern Ireland and certain remote or offshore postcodes may take longer.

International Delivery

International parcels are sent using Royal Mail, Parcelforce Worldwide or one of their international delivery partners.

  • Europe: Royal Mail’s delivery aim is three to five working days after dispatch. Please allow up to 10 working days.
  • United States: Royal Mail’s delivery aim is five to seven working days after dispatch. Please allow up to 10 working days.
  • Canada: Please allow approximately seven to 14 working days after dispatch.
  • Australia and New Zealand: Please allow approximately seven to 15 working days after dispatch.
  • All other available international destinations: Please allow approximately seven to 20 working days after dispatch.

International delivery times are estimates and cannot be guaranteed. Customs inspections, local import procedures, adverse weather, seasonal demand and delays affecting the destination country’s delivery network may extend these times.

A working day means Monday to Friday, excluding UK public holidays and, where relevant, public holidays in the destination country.

Yarn Brands with Longer Lead Times

McIntosh hand-dyed yarn is dyed to order and may require up to five working days for dyeing and drying before dispatch.

Products from LANGYARNS, WOOLADDICTS by LANGYARNS, Scheepjes, Lopi and Schoppel may be ordered directly from the manufacturer after you place your order. Please allow up to 10 working days for these physical products to arrive with us before dispatch.

These production and supplier lead times are in addition to the delivery times listed above. They do not apply to LANGYARNS and WOOLADDICTS by LANGYARNS PDF kit patterns delivered by email as described above.

If your order contains both in-stock and on-demand physical products, we will usually wait and send everything together. Occasionally, we may send part of your order first. If we do, we will let you know by email.

International Parcels Returned to Us

If an international parcel is returned because the recipient has not paid the applicable import duties, taxes or customs-clearance charges, has refused delivery, or has provided an incorrect or incomplete address, we will contact the customer once using the email address supplied with the order.

The customer must contact us within 14 days of that notification to arrange redelivery and pay the applicable redelivery charges. We will not make repeated attempts to contact the customer.

If a refund is legally due, we may deduct the actual and reasonable costs and losses arising from the failed delivery. These may include the original delivery cost, return delivery, customs charges, carrier fees and any reduction in the value of the goods. If those costs equal or exceed the refundable amount, no refund will be due.

Split Shipments

Sometimes, products in the same order may be sent in separate parcels. If we split your shipment, we will let you know by email.

Digital PDF patterns for LANGYARNS and WOOLADDICTS by LANGYARNS kits are delivered separately by email as described above.

Pre-Ordered Products

Products offered on a pre-order basis will be clearly identified on the product page, together with the expected dispatch or availability date. We will make every reasonable effort to meet that date; however, it is an estimate rather than a guaranteed delivery date because manufacturing, shipping, customs and supplier schedules may change for reasons outside our control.

If the manufacturer changes the expected date or we become aware of a significant delay, we will contact you using the email address supplied with your order and provide an updated estimate. You may then choose to continue waiting or, where applicable, cancel the affected pre-ordered product for a refund. This does not affect your statutory rights.

When Responsibility Passes

Your order becomes your responsibility once it has been delivered to the address you provided.

Until that point, McIntosh bears the risk of loss or damage. Title to the goods passes to you once full payment has been received.
