KnitPro Symfonie Interchangeable Knitting Needle Tips

by
James McIntosh

Colour, Comfort, Effortless Flow

The KnitPro Symfonie Interchangeable Needle Tips are one of those needles that bring a quiet sense of joy to knitting — not just in how they work, but in how they feel.

Made from beautifully finished FSC™-certified laminated birchwood, they have that familiar warmth in the hands that makes you want to keep knitting just a little longer. There’s a softness to them, but also a strength that gives you confidence across all types of projects.

What I particularly notice with Symfonie is the glide. The polished wood surface allows stitches to move smoothly along the needle, but with just enough natural grip to keep everything under control. It’s that balance again — smooth, but not slippery — which makes them incredibly versatile whether you’re working lace, textures, or thicker yarns.

They also have a lovely rhythm to them. The needles don’t rush you, but they don’t hold you back either. Everything feels even, steady, and enjoyable — exactly how knitting should feel.

And then, of course, there’s the colour. The layered, vibrant wood tones are instantly recognisable and genuinely beautiful. It’s a small thing, but it does make the experience feel a little more special every time you pick them up.

These interchangeable tips connect seamlessly with KnitPro cables (sold separately), allowing you to create the exact needle setup you need. They’re available in 10cm and 13cm lengths, giving you flexibility for everything from smaller circular projects to larger garments.

Why I sell them at McIntosh

I stock Symfonie because they are such a reliable all-rounder.

They work beautifully across different yarns and projects, and they offer that perfect middle ground between glide and control. If you’re not quite sure what type of needle you prefer, Symfonie is often the one that just feels right.

They’re also incredibly well made. Durable, comfortable, and consistently smooth — the kind of needles you can return to again and again.

And, if I’m honest, they’re simply lovely to look at too — which never hurts.
