The ChiaoGoo Limited Warranty — And Peace of Mind at McIntosh
One of the things I value most when choosing which brands to stock at McIntosh is trust. Trust in the tools themselves, trust in the people who make them, and trust in the support available if something does not perform as it should. That is why the ChiaoGoo Limited Product Warranty matters — and why I am proud to support it.
Every authentic, new ChiaoGoo product purchased from an authorised ChiaoGoo retailer is covered by a limited manufacturer warranty against manufacturing defects during the product’s expected useful life, as reasonably determined under normal use and applicable law.*
This warranty covers genuine faults in materials or workmanship that were present when the product left the factory and prevent it from performing as reasonably expected. This could include threads that do not connect securely when first used, rough or crimped joins straight from the packaging, incorrectly shaped needle points, failed factory bonding, exposed internal cable wire, or a faulty fastening on a case.
ChiaoGoo tools are thoughtfully engineered and made for many hours of knitting, but even the best tools need to be used and cared for appropriately. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, improper storage or damage caused by excessive force, tight tension or lifting a heavy project by its cable or joins.
ChiaoGoo’s TWIST red, blue X-Flex and silver SWIV360 cables are memory-free, but not kink-free. A cable may retain a permanent kink if it is pinched or bent sharply, while repeated strain can eventually cause fatigue within its steel core. These are signs of use or physical damage rather than manufacturing defects.
Authenticity matters too. ChiaoGoo products purchased second-hand or through unauthorised marketplace sellers are not covered by the manufacturer warranty, and counterfeit products are strictly excluded. Buying from McIntosh gives you the reassurance of an authentic product, proof of purchase and direct support if a genuine manufacturing problem arises.
For customers outside the United States, ChiaoGoo asks that warranty claims are made through the authorised retailer in the country where the product was purchased. If you bought your ChiaoGoo product from McIntosh, simply contact me with your order number, clear photographs or a short video, and a description of the problem.
I will help you through the process and liaise with ChiaoGoo or the relevant distributor where necessary. Proof of purchase or a physical inspection may be required, and ChiaoGoo will determine whether the problem is the result of a manufacturing defect. Where a claim is approved, the usual remedy is repair or replacement of the affected product or component.
For me, a warranty is not simply a technical promise. It is reassurance. It means knowing that when you invest in a carefully made knitting tool, you are supported by both the manufacturer and a small, independent retailer that genuinely cares about your experience.
Alongside the ChiaoGoo Limited Product Warranty, McIntosh also offers a 60-day no quibbles guarantee on eligible unopened and unused products. This gives you added peace of mind when your order arrives, while the manufacturer warranty provides support if a genuine manufacturing defect becomes apparent during normal use.
If something is not right, I am here. I will always do my best to make the process clear, fair and straightforward. When you buy ChiaoGoo from McIntosh, you are choosing beautifully engineered tools, the reassurance of authenticity, and support handled with the same care that goes into every stitch.
And that, in my book, is exactly how it should be.
*The ChiaoGoo Limited Product Warranty is subject to the manufacturer’s current terms and assessment. It is provided in addition to your statutory consumer rights and does not limit or replace them.
