Tulip Yaezakura Wooden Sewing Box

Some objects are made to be kept close.

The Tulip Yaezakura sewing box is one of them.

Quietly beautiful. Deeply considered. Made to last.

Rooted in the Japanese tradition of caring for tools, this box offers more than storage. It becomes part of the ritual — a place where making begins and ends.

Crafted from paulownia wood, often called “living wood”, the box allows its contents to breathe. A material long trusted in Japan for protecting precious items, from textiles to ceramics.

Lightweight. Stable. Naturally patterned.

Each box is hand-painted in Kyoto, using traditional motifs inspired by Japanese craft and culture — a quiet nod to heritage in every detail.

Inside, a carefully assembled collection of sewing tools.

Functional. Refined. Enduring.

Many elements are made using repurposed kimono silk, giving each set its own character. The fabrics vary, making every box unique.
