ANKEA is a women’s knitted, short-sleeved sweater worked in ANANAS by LANGYARNS, a DK weight yarn composed of 70% Lyocell, 30% Pineapple Fibres . The pineapple fibre is made from the leaves of the pineapple plant — material that would otherwise be treated as waste — and is processed using sustainable methods without bleach, with an enzyme wash used to remove impurities and a mechanised process designed to minimise environmental impact. In the finished yarn, the pineapple element brings a gently rustic look and feel without being scratchy, whilst the Lyocell adds a subtle sheen and a smooth, breathable quality that suits warm-weather garments and eyelet lace beautifully.
