Addi Phone App - Addi2Go

by
James McIntosh

So… I Tried the Addi2Go phone App ...

You know how we all swear by our project bags stuffed with random notes, half-used row counters, and about three needle gauges we still manage to misplace?  Well, Addi has only gone and made an app for that. It’s called Addi2Go, and honestly, it feels like they finally crawled inside a knitter’s brain and said, “Let’s make life easier.”

First Impressions

From the moment I opened it, I thought, “Ahhh, this feels right.” Clean, simple, no fiddling around. You can tell knitters actually helped design this because it doesn’t overcomplicate anything — it just works. And works really well.

Why I’m Loving It

The best bit? It’s basically all those random scraps of paper, post-it notes, and half-remembered gauge conversions rolled into one tidy little app. I don’t have to panic about forgetting my favourite needle size (again), or lose count mid-Netflix binge. Everything’s neat, in one place, and it feels very… well… Addi. Smooth, clever, well engineered and just a bit posh.

Did I mention its free?

Stuff I Keep Using

  • Voice-activated row counter — I literally say “next row” and it listens to me.
  • Needle size conversions — because why are there so many systems?
  • Knitting calculators — raglans, socks, yarn amounts… fewer guesses, less frogging.
  • Quick project notes — so I don’t forget what yarn I used six months ago.
  • On-the-go Addi info — handy when I’m out shopping or planning the next cast-on.

Final Verdict

Honestly, it feels less like an app and more like a knitting friend who never loses the pen, the counter, or the gauge. If you’re already an Addi fan, you’ll love it. If you’re not, you’ll be converted.
