Honeymoon Knitting, Day 9
Honeymoon Knitting, Day 9: Salzburg & The Sound of Music (Do-Re-Mi & Knit One, Purl One)
A Surprise in Salzburg
Just when James thought schnitzel and steins were the height of honeymoon romance, Dr Thomas produced tickets for a surprise excursion: The Sound of Music tour in Salzburg. Julie Andrews, mountain meadows, and knitting? This was practically destiny.
Knitting to the Soundtrack
As the bus wound through Salzburg, James quietly clicked away at the McIntosh #1 jumper in PROMISE by WOOLADDICTS from LANGYARNS. The needles kept time with Do-Re-Mi, while the yoke and body hummed along to Edelweiss.
Other tourists sang like hummingbirds. James counted stitches. Same difference.
Schnitzel, Schnapps & Singing
Between cathedral stops and mountain views, schnitzel was eaten, schnapps was sipped, and the jumper grew inch by inch. “This is the most musical knitting I’ve ever seen,” Dr Thomas joked, snapping a photo of James knitting under a Julie Andrews poster.
James, of course, considered it essential blocking inspiration.
